Communities Creating Opportunity organizes communities for racial justice and social change. CCO's mission is to train grassroots leaders in effective community engagement techniques that enable them to successfully advocate for their families and communities. For decades, CCO has focused its work in five low life expectancy zip codes in Kansas City: 64109, 64127, 64128, 64130, and 64132. Our LLE (low life expectancy) zip codes are majority black, low-income areas (median incomes $26-28k), with large health and life expectancy (18-year) discrepancies compared to nearby wealthier, whiter areas.
