Service Providers Respond to the Coronavirus Outbreak

Given the expanding landscape of work and school closures, Broadband and wireless providers are stepping up to help people stay connected during the coronavirus outbreak. This post will be updated as new information comes in.

AT&T

  1. AT&T will not terminate the service of subscribers who are unable to pay their bills due to the Outbreak.
  2. Late fees will also be waived
  3. Mobile wifi networks have been opened up to all users, regardless of whether or not they are an AT&T subscriber

Comcast

  1. Comcast will not terminate the service of subscribers who are unable to pay their bills due to the Outbreak
  2. Late fees will also be waived
  3. Data caps have been removed from all service plans
  4. Comcast's Xfinity wifi networks have been opened up to all users, regardless of whether or not they are subscribers
  5. Comcast Internet Essentials is free for two months for new subscribers (regularly 9.95/month)

Charter Spectrum

  1. Charter will offer free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription
  2. No installation fees for new subscribers
  3. Depends on Charter cable already being at that address.
  4. The customer cannot have debt with Charter
  5. Spectrum wifi networks have been opened up to all users, regardless of whether or not they are subscribers
